Bumrah surge in Test rankings
Indian seamer Jasprit Bumrah, who already tops the rankings for bowlers in the ODI format, has broken into the top 10 in Tests for the first time in his career after blowing West Indies away in the second innings of the first Test. Bumrah’s figures of 5 for 7 saw him move up to the seventh spot. West Indies pacer Kemar Roach, who picked up five wickets in the same Test, moved three slots to be placed eighth, just below Bumrah.
It’s not possible that Jasprit Bumrah is not among the wickets, no matter what the format of the game. In just 11 Tests, Bumrah has 55 wickets till date and averages 20.63.
“Bumrah was unhappy with his performance in the first innings and he thought he did not bowl up to his standards. He was quite fired up in the second innings,” batsman Hanuma Vihari, who scored 93 in India’s second innings, told the media in the post-match press conference.
